וַיִּשְׁמַע מֹשֶׁה אֶת־הָעָם בֹּכֶה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָיו אִישׁ לְפֶתַח אָהֳלֹו וַיִּֽחַר־אַף יְהוָה מְאֹד וּבְעֵינֵי מֹשֶׁה רָֽע׃

וּכְהִתְפַּלֵּל עֶזְרָא וּכְהִתְוַדֹּתֹו בֹּכֶה וּמִתְנַפֵּל לִפְנֵי בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים נִקְבְּצוּ אֵלָיו מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל קָהָל רַב־מְאֹד אֲנָשִׁים וְנָשִׁים וִֽילָדִים כִּֽי־בָכוּ הָעָם הַרְבֵּה־בֶֽכֶה׃ ס
