לֹא תֹאסִפוּן לָתֵת תֶּבֶן לָעָם לִלְבֹּן הַלְּבֵנִים כִּתְמֹול שִׁלְשֹׁם הֵם יֵֽלְכוּ וְקֹשְׁשׁוּ לָהֶם תֶּֽבֶן׃

וִיהֹונָתָן וַאֲחִימַעַץ עֹמְדִים בְּעֵין־רֹגֵל וְהָלְכָה הַשִּׁפְחָה וְהִגִּידָה לָהֶם וְהֵם יֵֽלְכוּ וְהִגִּידוּ לַמֶּלֶךְ דָּוִד כִּי לֹא יוּכְלוּ לְהֵרָאֹות לָבֹוא הָעִֽירָה׃

בְּצֹאנָם וּבִבְקָרָם יֵֽלְכוּ לְבַקֵּשׁ אֶת־יְהוָה וְלֹא יִמְצָאוּ חָלַץ מֵהֶֽם׃

הַשֹּׁאֲפִים עַל־עֲפַר־אֶרֶץ בְּרֹאשׁ דַּלִּים וְדֶרֶךְ עֲנָוִים יַטּוּ וְאִישׁ וְאָבִיו יֵֽלְכוּ אֶל־הַֽנַּעֲרָה לְמַעַן חַלֵּל אֶת־שֵׁם קָדְשִֽׁי׃
