וְאִם רָאָה הַכֹּהֵן וְהִנֵּה כֵּהָה הַנֶּגַע אַחֲרֵי הֻכַּבֵּס אֹתֹו וְקָרַע אֹתֹו מִן־הַבֶּגֶד אֹו מִן־הָעֹור אֹו מִן־הַשְּׁתִי אֹו מִן־הָעֵֽרֶב׃

וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו שְׁמוּאֵל קָרַע יְהוָה אֶֽת־מַמְלְכוּת יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵעָלֶיךָ הַיֹּום וּנְתָנָהּ לְרֵעֲךָ הַטֹּוב מִמֶּֽךָּ׃

וַיְהִי כִּשְׁמֹעַ אֱלִישָׁע אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִים כִּֽי־קָרַע מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־בְּגָדָיו וַיִּשְׁלַח אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ לֵאמֹר לָמָּה קָרַעְתָּ בְּגָדֶיךָ יָבֹֽא־נָא אֵלַי וְיֵדַע כִּי יֵשׁ נָבִיא בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
