וַיִּזְעֲקוּ אֶל־יְהוָה [וַיֹּאמֶר כ] (וַיֹּאמְרוּ ק) חָטָאנוּ כִּי עָזַבְנוּ אֶת־יְהוָה וַנַּעֲבֹד אֶת־הַבְּעָלִים וְאֶת־הָעַשְׁתָּרֹות וְעַתָּה הַצִּילֵנוּ מִיַּד אֹיְבֵינוּ וְנַעַבְדֶֽךָּ׃
